Aircraft Lineup
Below is the 2024 line-up that has been announced so far!
P-40 Kittyhawk
With two shy of 12,000 P-40 Warhawks made during WWII, their strength was in the number built. The Kittyhawk was one of two variants operated by the RAF, and two P-40s were the first aircraft valiantly taken up in response to the attack on Pearl Harbour.
Wolf Pitts Pro
Paul Bennet’s solo display is 12 mins of high energy, engine screaming precision aerobatics, starting at a height of 3500ft down to ground level! The Wolf Pitts is the highest performing aerobatic biplane in the world with an astonishing 400hp!
Skyaces
The famous SkyAces perform an array of dazzling formation aerobatics in very close proximity. Not only do the SkyAces performance entail skilful formation loops and rolls but also dynamic head to head stunts, which are guaranteed to leave you speechless!
CAC Wirraway
The word ‘Wirraway’ is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘Challenge’. The Wirraway was a training and general purpose military aircraft manufactured in Australia, built by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation between 1939 and 1946.
Edge 540
The Zivko Edge 540 is a highly aerobatic aircraft powered by a 350hp Lycoming engine. Capable of a 420 degree per second roll rate and a 3,700 foot per minute climb rate, it has been flown to victory many times in aerobatic competitions and is now synonymous with the air racing series as the base that alt other race aircraft are judged. Displayed by one of Australia’s top aerobatic pilots, the display showcases the aircrafts precision and performance that has made this design so popular.
Supermarine Spitfire Mk VIII
A sleek, metal marvel with a canti-levered wing and retractable landing gear! Over 20,000 Spitfires were built, with 1652 being the mighty Mk VIII. The last one snagged by the Royal Australian Air Force, it’s a piece of history with serial number A58-758. After WWII, it found new life as a teaching tool at Sydney Technical College until Mr. Colin Pay brought it back to life in 1985. Painted in classic RAAF colors, it’s now a star at the Temora Aviation Museum, thanks to David Lowy’s donation in 2002. Now part of the RAAF 100 Squadron Temora Historic Flight Collection, it’s a true Aussie aviation icon!
Hawker Seafury
The Hawker Sea Fury was a British fighter aircraft developed for the Royal Navy by Hawker during the Second World War. The last piston-driven fighter to serve with the Royal Navy, it was also one of the fastest production single engine piston driven aircraft ever built reaching a speed of 485 mph. A demilitarized Sea Fury holds the unofficial speed-record for a piston-engined aircraft in level flight at 547 mph.
T-28 Trojan
The T-28 Trojan was a piston engined military trainer used by the United States Air Force and Navy, beginning in the 1950s. Besides being a trainer, the T-28 was employed as a counter-insurgency aircraft, primarily during the Vietnam War. The T-28 display is like no other, with low level high speed passes combined with massive loops and barrel rolls that challenge fighters like the P-51
Grumman Avenger
Whether on the ground or in the air, this warbird is sure to draw attention no matter where it goes! The massive 1942 Grumman Avenger was a torpedo bomber developed initially for the United States Navy and features a unique folding wing design for carrier operations. It was the heaviest single-engine aircraft of WWII.
Skydiving Flag Drop
Get ready to kick off the airshow in true Aussie style! Picture this: a massive Aussie flag soaring high above, while “Advance Australia Fair” fills the air. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any cooler, watch Paul Bennet tear up the sky in his Wolf Pitts Pro, looping around the flag with smoke trailing behind. It’s a sight that’s sure to tug at your heartstrings and leave you speechless!
RAAF Roulettes
As the Royal Australian Air Force’s renowned aerobatic squad, the Roulettes command attention with their electrifying displays of precision formation flying and aerobatics, showcasing the incredible skills of our Air Force aviators. Now, soaring into action with cutting-edge technology, the Roulettes thrill audiences in the state-of-the-art Pilatus PC-21, a top-tier training aircraft that’s among the most advanced in the world. Flying at breathtakingly low altitudes of 80 meters and reaching speeds of up to 685 km/h, these daredevils pull off maneuvers with forces pushing up to 6Gs, sometimes flying as close as a mere 3 meters apart. Get ready for an adrenaline-packed spectacle that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in the skies!
RAAF 100SQ
The display is a great demonstration of precision flying and an opportunity to see the historical Air Force Trainers which cover 70 years of military pilot training in action.
Getting There
Drive
Mildura Airport Terminal Parking will NOT be available for event attendees. Anyone attending the event who has parked in this area will be asked to move their vehicle to the event parking zones.
Bus
Shuttle bus services will run along Deakin Avenue (7th Street to Airport). Those travelling from Red Cliffs or Merbein are asked to get their normal Sunday bus service and changeover to the FREE Airshow Shuttle at a designated Deakin Avenue stop. More details about times/services will be available closer to the event.
